403 forbidden

PostTue Mar 07, 2017 7:15 am

So I have a question about getting a 403 forbidden message. I was trying to post a reply to a thread and get a 403b message. Fortunately, I usually control C what I post before I submit because I have lost many post before. So I had a copy and I tried to save it to an old draft of mine and got the same message. Although, I could post in another topic and hopefully I can great this thread so I'm not sure what's causing it and was wondering if anyone had an idea. Thanks.

This is a question for Hex more than myself. It is possible that like the VC boards this one has certain trigger words that the system recognizes as attacks and so they block it. Usually that leads to a 404 error rather than 403 though. Try removing the words "select" or "from" and see if that works. Though, honestly, if this post goes through without error then that isn't likely the issue.

Another method would be to post a small chunk, then edit it and add another chunk until you run into the chunk that is causing the error and then attempt to edit that accordingly. Sorry I can't offer more help, hopefully Hex will see this soon.

I have no need for God in my life, the concept of a 'God' feels incredibly made up to me. It is not requisite for my every day living. For some people it is. They are 'theistic agnostics,' I am an 'atheistic agnostic.'" - Cara Santa Maria

Just a headsup, if you want to save the post, just PM it back to yourself, and when the bug is fixed - you can retrieve it from your PM and do the copy pasta into a new post :)

God bless,

I get that error message from time to time. It seems to be connected to really long posts.

If I am working on something epic (and I guess that makes sense if long posts are triggering it), I'll usually save it from time to time in an open word file so I don't lose any really exceptional prose. :geek:

If it's the usual dreck I post, I don't bother saving as I go, since I can knock that crap off in my sleep.
